For the first time since the addition of six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan, Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown spoke publicly with reporters from the Las Vegas Summer League.

He discussed his recent three-year contract extension, replacing some of the coaches who have moved on to other spots, rookie Devin Carter’s injury, and adding DeRozan to the roster.

“(DeRozan) will fit in great,” Mike Brown said. “After watching him extensively, he can bring the ball up the floor. He can initiate the offense when he brings it up the floor. He can play pick-and-roll. He can play the DHO game. These are all things we do within our offense. Our one to four are all interchangeable, so he may bring it at times. Because our one through four are all interchangeable, he may be in pick-and-roll at times; he may be playing DHO with Domas at times.”

“All the tools, you can see, all the skill set, are there for him to fit extremely well with what we want to do,” Mike Brown continued. “The one thing he may have to get a little used to at times is we try to play fast after every make and every miss. But not just get the ball up the court, but be in position to get the ball up the court but also get right into our flow right away and that may take a little bit of time for him to adjust to, but other than that I think he’s going to fit in extremely well.”
