Topics Discussed

  • What was the offseason like for Monte away from his work duties?
  • How does Monte feel about this group heading into training camp?
  • “The West is open, maybe more so than things were in the past… We have to find a way to win more games and get home-court advantage in the playoffs.”
  • Dave voices his concerns regarding Sacramento’s length and defense. Does Monte feel those concerns are valid?
  • McNair points to DeMar DeRozan being a part of a top-five defense in Chicago last season and says Dave is underestimating some of the current defenders on the roster.
  • “Last year, we showed that we can actually win with defense.”
  • Monte says that players currently dealing with injuries like Trey Lyles (groin), Jordan McLaughlin (ankle), and Kevin Huerter (shoulder) are on shorter recovery timelines and are all expected to be re-evaluated in the coming days and weeks before the October 24th season opener.

Listen to The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross from 6 – 10 a.m. PST, Monday through Friday, on Sactown Sports 1140.
