On Tuesday’s edition of ‘The Drive Guys’ with Kevin ‘Whitey’ Gleason and Kyle Draper (Sacramento Kings play-by-play announcer) were joined by Nathan Grubel, NBA Draft expert who writes for Draft Deeper and No Ceilings.
The trio spent the segment discussing who the Kings could consider with the 13th overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft. Some of the initial names mentioned by Grubel were Duke’s Jared McCain, Colorado’s Tristan da Silva, and Providence’s Devin Carter.
Joining the conversation not long after witnessing some of the NBA combine in Chicago, they dove into some recent conversations about this being a ‘weak’ draft class. What does that mean for Sacramento, and how does it affect their draft position?
Does the state of the prospects available present a situation where the Kings could look to trade up? In that scenario, who should they target? And, of course, the conversation eventually shifted to Bronny James, who has been a hot topic of conversation due to his recent measurables and exceptional performance in individual shooting drills.
Grubel shared his opinion on James’s recent showings and the talk about his current draft stock. The Kings do also have the 45th pick, although he could be off the board by then.
