Report: Kings open to trading De’Aaron Fox before trade deadline

The Sacramento Kings are considering all options before the February 6th trade deadline, including potentially trading star point guard De’Aaron Fox.
According to ESPN‘s Shams Charania, the Kings “are expected to open up talks to potentially deal All-Star De’Aaron Fox” prior to the trade deadline.
Rich Paul, Fox’s agent, told Sacramento’s front office that they wanted to see what direction the organization was headed in before committing to an extension that would keep his client in California’s capital beyond 2026.

They’ve been previously linked to Utah’s John Collins and Brooklyn’s Cameron Johnson as well, with the team just having spent four days during their ongoing road trip in New York.
We’ll see what direction they elect to go in, but it’s clear that they are considering all potential paths.

Coming into Brooklyn to face a Nets team without four starters and had lost 11 of their last 12 games, Monday night was an opportunity for the Sacramento Kings to get back into the win column.
Brooklyn had lost six in a row (11 of their last 12), while the Kings were 0-2 in their ongoing road trip.
The Kings came out victorious, defeating the Nets 110-96 on the shoulders of De’Aaron Fox’s 30-point performance, while Domantas Sabonis had 21 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Familiar face head coach Jordi Fernandez couldn’t take down his former employer, as Sacramento is back in the win column.
