Rumors continue to circle around Sacramento Kings’ current head coach, Mike Brown, and his future status with the organization as he heads into the final season of his contract.
According to The Athletic’s Sham Charania, Sacramento has extended a “competitive offer” that could reach up to three years, $27 million with incentives.
The Sacramento Kings have made a competitive offer to head coach Mike Brown on a contract extension – three years and $21 million through 2026-27, up to $27 million with bonuses, sources say. So far, no agreement. Brown is believed to be seeking around $10 million annually.

What those incentives are could be crucial, as making it to the conference finals, for example, would be an uphill battle. Mike Brown has not reached an agreement at the current time, and the money may not be enough for his liking.
He is reportedly seeking an “eight-figure deal” that would pay him around $10 million per season. This contract would be similar to those of recent Phoenix Suns hire Mike Budenholzer and Detroit Pistons head coach Monty Williams, as well as Lue’s $14 million per season deal with the Clippers.
