The Athletic’s Hunter Patterson joined Frankie Cartoscelli and Brenden Nunes on this edition of the Return of the Roar Sacramento Kings podcast.
With media day right around the corner, the roster is practically set. Barring some training camp invites, such as Terry Taylor, Boogie Ellis, and Skal Labissiere impressing enough to steal others spots, we largely know what to expect at this point.
While speaking with Hunter, we got his opinion on the huge offseason addition of DeMar DeRozan via sign-and-trade. While there are clear improvements that he brings to Sacramento, some questions exist as well, which was discussed on this episode of Return of the Roar.
Other topics in this Return of the Roar episode include:
- Who are the Kings potential X-Factors heading into the season
- Western Conference NBA teams that could outperform expectations
- The potential impact of De’Aaron Fox striving to become supermax eligible
- Could Jordan McLaughlin and/or Jalen McDaniels surprise people and carve out a notable role?
- Our reasoning for why Malik Monk is best utilized off the bench
- So… should they start Kevin Huerter or Keon Ellis?
When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?
Now that we know when the Kings will suit up for their season-opener, we can look forward to October 24th for the Beam Team’s season-opening matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Training camps will begin at the end of September, meaning there could still be a move or two up general manager Monte McNair’s sleeve to round out Sacramento’s roster before players report to Golden 1 Center.
