Former assistant coach Rico Hines, current assistant for the Philadelphia 76ers, joined The Drive Guys on Wednesday to discuss the state of the NBA, what DeMar DeRozan brings to Sacramento, his perspective on where the Kings stand, and more.
Hines shared that he has a good relationship with the latest Kings’ superstar, DeRozan, likely due to their southern California connection — Hines hosts offseason games in southern California, while DeRozan is from that area — and claimed that he thinks he brings Sacramento a “different type of swagger.”
Having spent time with several different organizations, The Drive Guys asked Rico Hines his perspective on the current state of the NBA’s Western Conference, which he responded to by saying that it’s fairly wide open at this point.
Being a current member of the 76ers. They were also sure to ask him about Philadelphia’s addition of Paul George alongside former MVP Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey’s development.
