Sam Amick makes sense of the De’Aaron Fox trade rumors

Jan 30, 2025, 9:43 AM

Sam Amick of The Athletic joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Thursday morning to try and make sense of what’s going on with De’Aaron Fox potentially being traded before the Feb. 6th trade deadline that is only one week away.

The guys discussed the preferred landing spots for De’Aaron Fox, with the San Antonio Spurs being at the top of his list. But are there other places that should be considered? The Miami Heat?

As the conversation continued, they asked Amick if he thinks the situation in Sacramento is salvageable and if there’s a world where Fox remains on the roster long-term.

All that and PLENTY of other great conversations can be heard using the link above or on the Sactown Sports YouTube page.

Listen to The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross from 6 – 10 a.m. PST, Monday through Friday, on Sactown Sports 1140.

Amid all the drama surrounding De’Aaron Fox, the Sacramento Kings 2024-25 NBA schedule continues with a road matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.

Philadelphia’s bench outscored the Kings 40-15, while Tyrese Maxey led the way with 30 points on 12/24 shooting, defeating Sacramento 117-104.

Their high-paced, defensive style of play that had been so effective under interim head coach Doug Christie was only seen in spurts.

The 76ers dominated from beyond the arc, converting 12/29 (41.1 percent) from deep compared to 10/41 (24.4 percent) from the other side.

All of Sacramento’s starters added 13 points or more, with Domantas Sabonis recording his usual triple-double (13 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists).

They’re now 1-3 on this six-game road trips with remaining stops on Oklahoma City and Minnesota.
