With the group stage of the NBA Cup in the books, the Sacramento Kings schedule has been updated with two new additions.

After posting a record of 1-3 in group play, Sacramento did not advance to the knockout round and will have to wait another year for a crack at making the trip to Las Vegas.

The Kings (10-12) now know who they will play during the previously labeled ‘To Be Determined’ week of December 10-17th:

  • Thursday, December 12th – @ New Orleans Pelicans – 5:00 PM PT
  • Monday, December 16th – vs. Denver Nuggets – 7:00 PM PT

Sacramento fans may groan upon first glance at the updated schedule, especially after reflecting on an 0-6 showing against the Pelicans last season, with the final loss ending the Kings’ season in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

New Orleans (4-18) is not in a great spot early after losing several key players to injuries this season, including All-Star forward Zion Williamson, high-scoring wing Brandon Ingram, defensive forward Herb Jones, and point guard Jose Alvarado.

Still, the Kings can’t take any opponent lightly, especially as they continue to try and clean up a sub-.500 start to a season that had high expectations.

After facing the Pelicans in New Orleans on December 12th, nearly one month will pass before Sacramento’s next game outside of California state lines.

The Kings will play eight of nine games at Golden 1 Center from December 16 through January 6 before opening an East Coast road trip in Boston on January 10.

Taking care of business at home has been an issue for Sacramento, as the Kings currently hold a record of 5-7 on their home floor (the third-worst record in the Western Conference).

We’ll see if Tuesday’s win over the Houston Rockets can act as a sign of what is to come for a Beam Team that has been searching for signs of life over the first 20-plus games of the season.

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?

Sacramento will begin a brief two-city road trip on Thursday night against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Last season, the Kings enjoyed a three-game regular season series sweep of Memphis, including both games at the FedEx Forum.
