There is a lot going on with Northern California sports right now.
FOX 40’s Sean Cunningham joined Jason Ross this week to discuss a variety of tops regarding NorCal sports teams, including the Sacramento Kings, San Francisco 49ers, and San Francisco Giants.
What is the latest on the Brandon Aiyuk contract saga at 49ers camp? Did the Giants do enough at the MLB trade deadline? Are the Kings in a better spot heading into next season?
That and much more in the interview below:
MLB trade deadline & San Francisco Giants
- Sean and Jason talk about which players would make up the best Bay Bridge Series team (Athletics and Giants players) of all time
- San Francisco did a bit of buying and selling during the trade deadline. What should we make of the Giants?
- Sean says that San Francisco’s deadline approach was “frustrating”
- Will Giants president Farhan Zaidi keep his job following this season?
- “If it’s up to me, I’m looking for somebody else.”
San Francisco 49ers
- Sean has been at San Francisco 49ers training camp over the past week
- How noteworthy have the absences of Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams been?
- What is holding the 49ers back from another Super Bowl run?
- “This team has shown a knack for being able to get into the NFC Championship… I think they’re positioned very well.”
Sacramento Kings
- How much better have the Kings gotten this summer?
- “You feel great about them and the talent upgrade.”
- Sean says the Kings could have a “four-headed monster” with De’Aaron Fox, DeMar DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis, and Keegan Murray
- “They did it without sacrificing much talent… I think that’s a huge accomplishment for this team.”
- What can fans expect to see from rookie Devin Carter once he returns from a shoulder injury during the second half of the season?
- Sean thinks that Malik Monk will start the season on the bench in his Sixth Man role
- Will Sacramento add some size to the roster?
