The Sacramento Kings currently have 14 standard rostered players, along with Summer League standout Boogie Ellis, leaving one main roster opening and two training camp invites. According to Sactown Sports’ Kyle Draper, the team plans to host workouts with free agents soon, including former Kings player Isaiah Thomas.
Other players mentioned by Draper are wings Juan Toscano-Anderson and Lonnie Walker, along with big man Tony Bradley.
“Isaiah Thomas coming into a game in Sacramento, I think would be perhaps on the Mount Rushmore of player return ovations.”@CarmichaelDave & @JasonRoss1140 react to the news that former Kings guard Isaiah Thomas is working out with the team this week: pic.twitter.com/yY3VkPOZhb

As mentioned, Isaiah Thomas has been a fan favorite among Kings’ fans since being drafted with the 60th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and proceeding to play three seasons in California’s capital.
Toscano-Anderson is a more recent familiar face. Having a familiarity with head coach Mike Brown from their shared time in Golden State, the 6’6 wing was given the chance to compete for a spot in last season’s training camp.
Despite not ultimately making that cut, a new opportunity arose mid-season, and he joined the Kings for back-to-back ten-day contracts, playing in 11 games.
Lonnie Walker IV (25) is the youngest of the group. The 6’4 former first-round pick played four seasons with San Antonio before spending one year with the Lakers and last season in Brooklyn. With the Nets, he tallied 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists on 42.3 percent from the field, including 38.4 percent from three in 17.4 minutes on average.
Lastly, Tony Bradley (26) stands at 6’10 and played four games with the Mavericks’ G-League squad, the Texas Legends, before being cut from their roster.
Isaiah Thomas would need to outshine Boogie Ellis and/or Jordan McLaughlin. Lonnie Walker would likely be fighting for a spot against the likes of Colby Jones, assuming they both will be behind the likes of Devin Carter (when healthy), Kevin Huerter, Malik Monk, and Keon Ellis.
With Juan Toscano-Anderson possessing more size, his battle may come down to Jalen McDaniels and some of the wings mentioned above.
Tony Bradley, being the lone center on the list, is up against Alex Len and Orlando Robinson.
Not in terms of this upcoming workout, but in order to eventually make the roster.
With one spot remaining and two training camp invites, it will be interesting to see which of these players impressive general manger Monte McNair enough to get the call — if any.
When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?
Now that we know when the Kings will suit up for their season-opener, we can look forward to October 24th for the Beam Team’s seTeam’spening matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Training camps will begin at the end of September, meaning there could still be a move or two up general manager Monte McNair’s McNair’so round out SacramentSacramento’sefore players report to Golden 1 Center.
