On Thursday’s edition of Stiles and Watkins on Sactown Sports 1140, the guys discussed whether the Sacramento Kings should consider making a move for forward Julius Randle.
The New York Knicks forward is eligible for a hefty extension this offseason, and the team has found success amid his injury absences in recent years. However, insiders have continued to question whether he’s a trade candidate in 2024-25.
In 46 games played last season, Julius Randle averaged 24.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 9.2 rebounds in 35.4 minutes per game.
The obvious question when it comes to his potential fit in Sacramento is playing the 6’8 forward alongside big man centerpiece Domatnas Sabonis.
Additionally, with the signing of DeMar DeRozan, another player who isn’t a high-volume shooter, the 31.1 percent Julius Randle shoots from three could be cause for concern.
It’s unclear what the asking price could be from the Knicks’ perspective, but adding Julius Randle would be an undeniable talent upgrade move from general manger. It’s just about if the fit makes sense and would be an idealized form of that collection of players.
Allen Stiles and Chris Watkins broke down all of that and more throughout their show.
When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?
The dog days of the NBA offseason have arrived.
Sacramento will continue to look to add to its roster before players report for training camp at the end of September. The Kings currently have two open roster spots that General Manager Monte McNair will have to fill in the coming weeks and months.
