You can always use more three-point shooting.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Sacramento Kings have signed three-point specialist and veteran forward Doug McDermott to a one-year deal.
McDermott, 32, is a ten-year NBA veteran who holds a career three-point shooting percentage of 41 percent on 3.5 attempts per game.
The Kings needed to address its thin front court depth following the recent trade that sent Jalen McDaniels to San Antonio, and now they have a 6’6 wing to plug into head coach Mike Brown’s second unit alongside Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter, and Trey Lyles,

More on new Kings forward Doug McDermott
McDermott–also known as ‘Dougie McBuckets’–has been one of the NBA’s best three-point shooters since being drafted in 2014.
The veteran forward is one of ten players to shoot 40 percent or better since the start of the 2014-15 season (minimum 2,000 attempts), joining Stephen Curry, Buddy Hield, CJ McCollum, Joe Ingles, Seth Curry, Kyle Korver, Klay Thompson, Joe Harris, and JJ Redick.
Last season with the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs, McDermott averaged 5.5 points per game on 41 percent shooting from deep over 64 appearances (14.1 minutes per game).
McDermott has experience playing with Domantas Sabonis in prior stops in Oklahoma City (2016-17) and Indiana (2018-21), giving the All-NBA center another dribble-hand-off option on a roster that is already loaded with offensive firepower.
While it’s currently unknown what exact role McDermott will play in head coach Mike Brown’s rotation, it’s fair to expect the forward to slot into the second unit alongside a group that includes Monk, the Sixth Man of the Year runner-up, fellow veteran sharpshooter Kevin Huerter, and versatile forward Trey Lyles.
