Stockton Kings hire Quinton Crawford as head coach

Last season, Lindsey Harding was awarded NBA G-League Coach of the Year for her efforts with the Stockton Kings. That led to her being offered a spot on J.J. Redick’s coaching staff on the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, Stockon has hired Quinton Crawford to run the show, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Crawford has been an NBA assistant coach for the last seven seasons with the Lakers (2019-22), Dallas Mavericks (2022-23), and most recently the Phoenix Suns (2023-24).

The Sacramento Kings are hiring Quinton Crawford as head coach of the franchise’s NBA G League Stockton Kings, sources tell @TheAthletic. Crawford, 33, spent last seven seasons as an NBA assistant, including 2023-24 in Phoenix. He was part of the 2020 Lakers championship staff.

Mason Jones, Isaac Jones, and Isaiah Crawford are the two-way players who often spend time with Quinton Crawford in Stockton.

Don’t be surprised if Colby Jones also gets some run down there, along with rookie Devin Carter, throughout his rehab process.

With big shoes to fill after Harding’s departure, now Quinton Williams will function as Stockon’s head coach.

When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?

Now that we know when the Kings will suit up for their season-opener, we can look forward to October 24th for the Beam Team’s season-opening matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Training camps will begin at the end of September, meaning there could still be a move or two up general manager Monte McNair’s sleeve to round out Sacramento’s roster before players report to Golden 1 Center.
