Add one more name to All-Star weekend in Utah for Sacramento, just not another NBA player.
The 2023 Ruffles All-Star Celebrity game rosters were revealed Wednesday, with comedian Hasan Minhaj claiming a spot on Dwyane Wade’s team this year.
Minhaj, a Davis native, is best known for his stand-up routines, traveling across the globe to perform comedy themed around his life and growing up in an Indian household. His Netflix show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj won two Peabody Awards and two Webby Awards.
The 37-year-old graduated from UC Davis in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. A fan of the Sacramento Kings, Minhaj has attended many games, even considering the idea of becoming part-owner of the franchise.
