Hey Kings fans, you can’t bring your cowbells to Chase Center in San Francisco

Here’s a PSA for Kings fans headed to Chase Center in San Francisco to catch the next Kings-Warriors playoffs games: leave your cowbell at home.

According to Chase Centers’ guidelines, cowbells are listed as prohibited noise-making items.

A similar list of banned items on the Golden 1 Centers’ website has an exception for cowbells at Kings games.

After beating the Warriors in their first two games of the first round of the playoffs, the Kings will next play the Golden State away on Thursday, April 20, and Sunday, April 23.

A spokesperson for the Chase Center and the Warriors confirmed they would not ask the NBA for an exception to the ban for traveling Kings fans.

There is one place where fans’ cowbells will likely be welcomed on those game days, the official Kings watch party at Golden 1 Center.

The Kings said they’re opening up Golden 1 Center for Game 3 Thursday at 7 p.m. The arena will open Sunday for Game 4 at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets for the watch parties are free but must be claimed online starting April 18 for Game 3 and April 21 for Game 4.

The Kings are also opening up their Playoffs Playground fan experience on K Street from noon to halftime on Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Cowbells at Kings games have been a tradition since former Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson called Sacramento a “cow town” and fans responded by bringing the instruments to the 2002 Western Conference Finals.
