NBA expert not worried about Murray, Huerter’s 3-point shooting struggles vs. Warriors

The Athletic’s Hunter Patterson joined Stiles & Watkins Friday to talk about what he’s seen from the Sacramento Kings so far this season, Davion Mitchell stepping up for the injured De’Aaron Fox, the growth of Keegan Murray, and more.

In the Kings’ last game, Kevin Huerter and Keegan Murray were a combined 1-12 from behind the three-point arc. Hunter said this isn’t something fans should worry about because the team is only a handful of games into the season.

“Keegan’s adjusting to a new role. Obviously Mike [Brown] has been on him, pretty consistently, to expand his game, not just be a three-point shooter. And so he’s in an adjustment period with that expansion of his role,” Hunter said. “Huerter, he’s definitely not been shooting the ball as well. Even going back to the playoffs last year. But last game, he had nine boards, nearly a double-double. So he’s trying to find ways to impact the team other than just shooting.”
