There are usually 4 camps in this conversation:

Michael Jordan voters- Usually 35+, enjoy the game the way it used to be played….when men were men and it wasn’t a foul when you breathed on someone.
Lebron James voters- Usually 12-34, enjoy avocado toast and like to whine about how their parents screwed up the world for them. Never saw Jordan play in his prime, but they just know that LBJ is better.
Kareem/Wilt/Oscar etc guy- Always 40+, likes being a contrarian. Also believes that “back in his day” these guys were amazing. Probably worried about dying soon, and doesn’t want to let go of his own beliefs and heroes. Out of touch. Just pat them on the head and tell them it will all be ok.
“WHY DO WE HAVE THIS CONVERSATION, YOU CAN’T COMPARE, JUST APPRECIATE THEM BOTH” person- This is the lamest person. Why are we having it? Because WE CAN. Because our lives are so dull and dreary that we spend hours watching grown millionaires dribble a ball and put it through a hoop. Gotta love someone that spends hours being a voyeur and spending time on sports, which have almost zero bearing on anything that matters- gotta love them drawing the line at a “pointless debate”. Yeah its pointless you ding dong, as is every other sports-related thing. You’re trying to sound above the fray, but in reality you’re just sounding stupid.
