Fox, Monk think it’s great the Kings get to face the Warriors so often
If the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors are turning into a rivalry, then De'Aaron Fox and Malik Monk are welcoming the challenge.

By the end of Wednesday, the Kings and Warriors will have met in 10 of Sacramento’s past 13 games. If you include the California Classic, that number increases.
In last year’s regular season series, the Kings were nearly swept by the Warriors, dropping three of the four games. Then in the playoffs, which was the first time the two teams met in the postseason, Sacramento pushed Golden State to the limit but ultimately lost in Game 7.
And once the 2023-24 season starts, the Kings and Warriors will meet three times by the end of November.

However, two of the team’s stars, De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk, think it’s great that the two teams match up so frequently.
“It’s fun playing them guys, though, because they always compete. They always bring their A-game, so I like it,” Monk said Tuesday after practice. “They been saying we’re the young Golden State. Golden State started like us. I’d love to have that rivalry.”
“I mean, that’s a team right down the street. Obviously, they’ve won championships and that’s something that we strive for. So it’s great that we are able to go up against them so much and just kind of, kind of learn while playing them,” Fox added about the budding rivalry.
