The Sacramento Kings announced their Opening Night roster Monday, setting the group that will begin the 2026-27 season against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night at Intuit Dome.

Sacramento’s 15-player roster includes guards Darius Acuff Jr., Malik Monk, Zach LaVine, Daeqwon Plowden, Ben Simmons, and Emanuel Sharp; forwards Precious Achiuwa, Leaky Black, Nique Clifford, De’Andre Hunter, Alex Karaban, Jonathan Mogbo, and Keegan Murray; and centers Dylan Cardwell, Maxime Raynaud, and Domantas Sabonis.

Mogbo and Black are on two-way contracts. The Kings will enter the regular season with one open two-way spot and one open standard roster spot.

Ben Simmons’ inclusion comes after the veteran forward tore his right Achilles tendon during practice Sunday. An MRI confirmed the season-ending injury, and Simmons is expected to undergo surgery.

His absence is a significant blow for Sacramento before the season starts, as the team hoped to add his size, defense, and playmaking to the rotation while also mentoring the seventh overall pick in Acuff.

Sacramento did not announce a replacement signing for Simmons with its Opening Night roster.

Several recently waived players could become options, though each must first clear waivers before the Kings can pursue them.

Milwaukee waived guard Kevin Porter Jr., Memphis waived guard Walter Clayton Jr., and the Lakers waived forward Dalton Knecht. Sacramento has been linked to all three players in the past, with the Kings being linked to Porter and Clayton leading into Monday’s deadline, per NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer.

Clayton could be a particularly familiar name for Sacramento. The Kings reportedly wanted to trade for him during the 2025 NBA Draft, when he was selected 18th overall. His availability now gives the team a potential guard to monitor as it works through the post-Simmons roster picture.

For now, Sacramento’s attention turns to opening night.
