DeMarcus Cousins speaks glowingly about the Kings on recent podcast

The Sacramento Kings have been the feel-good story of the NBA this season. So much so that former players have come out and sung the praises of Mike Brown and his team, including former big man DeMarcus Cousins.

On a recent appearance on the What’s Burnin podcast with Rachel Nichols and Showtime Basketball, Cousins discussed a variety of topics, including the Kings’ success. A former King himself, “DMC” said he is thrilled to see his former squad back in basketball relevance.

“I think they’re super talented. Young team, full of energy, full of excitement. You can tell they enjoy playing with one another. You can tell they have fun,” Cousins said on What’s Burnin.

DeMarcus took it a step further with his Kings’ support, stating that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Kings finish with the best record in the Pacific Division.

“As far as them being top of the division, I can see that happening because it is regular season,” Cousins explained. “The way you win regular season is consistency and playing hard. Whatever team does that, they’re going to be [at] the top of the conference. And health obviously. Those three things they’ve done all year, and I think they will continue to do that. So I can see the Kings coming out the top of that division.”

Spending the majority of his career in Sacramento, Cousins said he has fond memories of “Cowbell Kingdom,” and is most excited for the city as a whole to finally have a winning team.

“I’m just happy for the city because they really deserve it. That’s an incredible fan base. They literally the definition of like sticking through thick-and-thin,” Demarcus Cousins said. “Cowbells ringing with 10 wins in the season. Incredible fan base, they’re more than deserving. So I’m excited.”
