Before their second preseason game on Friday night, the Sacramento Kings announced that Kevin Huerter has been cleared for full contact court activities.

He has been recovering from surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder towards the latter parts of last season.

Sacramento has three preseason games remaining over the next six days. The regular season opener is scheduled for October 24th against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

If Kevin Huerter progresses well in practice, there seems to be a chance he may be ready by then.

After being re-evaluated by Dr. Neal ElAttrache at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, Kings forward Kevin Huerter has been cleared for full contact court activity. He will progress through the final stages of return to play protocol before returning to game action.

With an entire 82-game schedule ahead of them, there’s no need to rush him back.

However, Kevin Huerter is not the only one currently injured. Devin Carter (shoulder), Trey Lyles (groin), Jordan McLaughlin (ankle), and Orlando Robinson (knee) are all currently sidelined as well.

The sharpshooter often played in the starting lineup for Brown’s squad, but the emergence of Keon Ellis leads to questions about modifications to Huerter’s role.
