The 2024 NBA Draft is less than one week away, meaning it’s almost decision time for the Sacramento Kings.
Sacramento holds the 13th pick in June 26th’s 2024 NBA Draft, which includes a player pool that many draft experts have projected as a weaker class. Disappointing class or not, the Kings are in a position to add to a roster that has remained largely intact since July 2022.
The possibilities of using the pick on a prospect or packaging it in a deal to acquire veteran talent are both on the table for general manager Monte McNair.

NBA Mock Draft Roundup: Sacramento Kings 13th pick
ESPN – G-League forward Ron Holland
Sacramento has explored trade options with this pick, but there will be a range of quality players on the board if the Kings stand pat — they might be content to simply see who falls to No. 13. Holland has worked out for a wide range of teams, from Atlanta at No. 1 down to the Heat at No. 15, and it’s still not quite clear where his backstop lies.
Presuming the Kings are on track to retain Malik Monk and maintain their backcourt, taking a swing on a wing such as Holland or a frontcourt player could be a smart direction.
Landing on a Sacramento team with established talent and roles, which won’t ask Holland to be an offensive focal point, could be ideal long term for his game. That move would allow Holland to get back to his roots as a tough defender and high-energy contributor.

CBS Sports – Baylor guard Ja’Kobe Walter
I’m personally higher on Walter than the majority — but indications are that he’s now mostly considered a borderline lottery pick as opposed to the likely top-10 pick he projected as before his first and only season at Baylor. With Malik Monk headed for unrestricted free agency and possibly to another franchise, adding a guard with size who can shoot would be a sensible move for Sacramento.

An impressive pro day of shooting has had teams buzzing about Kel’el Ware. Sources say he’s generating realistic consideration in the late lottery.
The narrative about his underwhelming motor has seemingly been squashed.
Ware figures to look highly enticing in a workout setting that can showcase his athleticism at the rim, mobility and high shotmaking skill level.

The Kings already have De’Aaron Fox. But Topic’s size could allow him to share the backcourt with Fox in the years to come. Topic can attack downhill and is a willing playmaker who’d thrive in a multi-handler offense as long as his shot successfully develops.

The NBA Draft is now a two-night event.
Wednesday, June 26th, will act as the first night of the 2024 NBA Draft, where the Sacramento Kings will make their first-round selection (13th). The second round of the draft will be held on Thursday, June 27th, where the Kings will use its 45th overall pick.
Sacramento hasn’t had a first-round pick since 2022, when it selected Iowa product Keegan Murray with the fourth overall pick.
