Report: Malik Monk signs multi-year sneaker deal with Peak

According to Nick DePaula, Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk has signed a multi-year shoe deal with Peak.

Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk has agreed to a new multi-year sneaker deal with Chinese sportswear brand Peak, as first reported by Nick DePaula.

He signed a deal with Nike not long after being selected 11th in the 2017 NBA Draft but has been wearing Peak sneakers for most of this season already.

Other athletes signed to Peak include Andrew Wiggins, Lou Williams, Tony Parker, Dwight Howard, Jose Alvarado, and Matthew Dellavadova.

With De’Aaron Fox parting from Nike in favor of Curry Brand (Under Armour) last season, Monk has become the second Sacramento guard from the 2017 Draft to sign a new sneaker deal.

With the agreement, the guard got his own logo and has been wearing Peak shoes that feature his own logo for most of this season.

Domantas Sabonis had a double-double by halftime, De’Aaron Fox finished with one of his own and the Sacramento Kings rolled to a comfortable 123-100 home win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday night.

Sabonis recorded his league-leading 37th double-double with a game-high 29 points and a game-high 18 rebounds for the Kings, who won for the ninth time in their last 10 games.

Fox chipped in with 12 points and a game-high 13 assists in his seventh double-double of the year.

Sabonis had 18 of his points and 11 of his rebounds in the first half, during which Sacramento got the jump on a Wizards team playing for the second time in two nights. The Kings led by as many as 11 in the first quarter and 14 in the second en route to a 62-48 halftime advantage.

In losing for the 10th straight time, the Wizards never got closer than 10 in the third period, yet hung within 102-91 with 7:11 remaining in the game before Sabonis dropped in a five-footer, DeMar DeRozan and Keegan Murray threw down dunks, and DeRozan added a 20-footer in an 8-0 burst that broke the game open for good.

Sabonis went 12-for-16 from the field, helping Sacramento outshoot Washington 48.4 percent to 36 percent.
