Kings Roundtable: Sacramento’s front office, adding Fultz, and more

Brenden Nunes and Chris Watkins joined The Allen Stiles Show to discuss the potential future of the Sacramento Kings front office, their new addition of Markelle Fultz, where they stand in the Western Conference post-deadline, and more.

Having played a handful of games for the team in California’s capital, Zach LaVine has looked uncomfortable for most of his early games. The trio dove into his recent production and how the Kings can continue to make life easier for the two-time All-Star.

Since trading away De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk has handled the bulk of the Kings’ point guard responsibilities, with playmaking help from DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis. Adding free-agent Markelle Fultz on Wednesday night could help fill that hole, a potential that Allen, Chris, and Brenden discussed on the show.

With the recent changes and continued questions surrounding the team, they also discussed the future of Monte McNair, Wes Wilcox, and the rest of Sacramento’s front office.

Zach LaVine had his best showing as a member of the Sacramento Kings, recording 32 points and 10 assists on 12/24 shooting, but they fell to the New Orleans Pelicans 140-133 in overtime Thursday night.

Known Kings-killer since the organization didn’t draft him in the 2013 NBA Draft, CJ McCollum ended the night with 43 points on 16/25 after just six points in the first half.

It was a career night on the glass for Domantas Sabonis, who had 22 points and 28 rebounds (13 offensive), but poor defense continues to plague Sacramento.

They head into the All-Star break with a 28-27 record, with some much-needed practice time expected after the break.
