Tristi Rodriguez, who covers the Sacramento Kings (and other teams) for NBC Sports Bay Area, joined The Drive Guys Tuesday to discuss hosting Sacramento’s recent celebrity softball game, why the Kings need to make a move this offseason, the importance of the growth of Keegan Murray, and more.

JaVale McGee coordinated a celebrity softball game at Sutter Health Park, home of the River Cats, and Rodriguez helped emcee the event alongside Sactown Sports’ radio producer Jay Johnson. The two shared their experiences from the event at the beginning of their conversation.

Of course, it then shifted over to the state of the Kings. With the NBA offseason officially underway, the guys got her perspective on the level of “need” to make a move to continue to improve the roster.

Rodriguez expressed her thoughts on Keegan Murray’s crucial role in the long-term growth and development of Sacramento’s franchise. Is there an optimism around that belief?

When is the next off-season date of interest for Keegan Murray and the Sacramento Kings?

The NBA Draft is now a two-night event.

Wednesday, June 26th, will act as the first night of the 2024 NBA Draft, where the Sacramento Kings will make their first-round selection (13th). The second round of the draft will be held on Thursday, June 27th, where the Kings will use its 45th overall pick.

Sacramento hasn’t had a first-round pick since 2022, when it selected Iowa product Keegan Murray with the fourth overall pick.
