Do you have enough confidence in the Sacramento Kings to place a wager on them to win the NBA Finals?

At least one person does.

As the NBA’s Summer League rolls on, someone placed a $10,000 bet on the Kings to win it all this upcoming NBA season. At the time of the bet, the Kings were facing 750-1 odds of winning the championship.

According to a tweet from Caesars Sportsbook, the bet was dropped at Tropicana Las Vegas. If the Sacramento Kings pull it off and win the NBA Finals, the bettor walks away with $7.5 million.

The team has only won an NBA Championship once before, in 1951 as the Rochester Royals. The team currently holds the record for the longest NBA playoff appearance drought, which currently sits at 16 seasons. The last time the Kings made the playoffs was during the 2005-06 season, where they were eliminated in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs.

If the bettor is a Kings fan, then there’s plenty to be optimistic about. Rookie Keegan Murray has shined during the NBA Summer League play. And the team has added Malik Monk via free agency and Kevin Huerter from the Atlanta Hawks via trade.

They also now have a head coach with championship experience. Mike Brown has four NBA Championship rings as an assistant coach; one with the San Antonio Spurs and three most recently with the Golden State Warriors.

When Caesars released its 2023 NBA Final odds in June, the Golden State Warriors were the odds-on favorite.
