Sacramento Kings continue rookie offseason workourts

The Sacramento Kings hosted a number of recent off-season NBA workouts.

The Sacramento Kings continued their offseason workouts, bringing in a wide variety of offseason talent this offseason given the unpredictable nature of their current talent.

While a first-round selection is out of the picture, there have been plenty of second round and undrafted talents that have proven to play impact roles on rosters included, but not limited to, Keon Ellis and Isaac Jones.

Just because Sacramento was first to discover these talents does not mean they should be quick to ship off said talents. They’re important to filling out a contending roster.

Indiana surrounding Tyrese Haliburton — (and Pascal Siakam and Myles Tuner) with overly productive role players is where the Kings went wrong.

They’re subsequent moves — post-Haliburton trade — are what make the difference with this deal, but there’s no telling how far each organization would’ve gotten without full support from their higher ups.

It’s a difficult equation to try and balance, but either said, in my mind, would struggle to make an argument saying that they’d rather have Domantas Sabonis than Haliburton.

Prior to the Pacers’ deal, trading for a number one player/guard seemed nearly impossible.

Even if Sacramento are one of the teams that made a clear mistake in hindsight, that doesn’t say they couldn’t be an intelligent franchise who allows them to compete in the coming seasons.

I wouldn’t bet on it, but feel comfortable saying it’s within imagination.
