Kings vs. Warriors Injury Report: Sabonis, Curry & more

The Sacramento Kings will begin a five-game homestand on Wednesday night when they face the Golden State Warriors at Golden 1 Center.

While the Kings have struggled to a 2-5 start to the season, they will face a shorthanded Warriors team that is also playing in the second night of a back-to-back after Golden State defeated Phoenix on Tuesday night in San Francisco.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Sacramento has faced a team under similar circumstances. On October 28th, the Kings dropped a 107-101 game to Oklahoma City after leading for nearly the entirety of the contest until the final minutes, despite being without Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams due to injury.

Sacramento has another chance to pick up a W on Wednesday, although they have some injury questions of their own.

One day removed from being linked to one another, the Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement with free agent center Precious Achiuwa, a veteran big man who most recently played for the New York Knicks during the 2024-25 season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to report the agreement between Sacramento and Achiuwa. To make room for Achiuwa on the roster, the Kings have waived second-year forward Isaac Jones.

Achiuwa, 26, has been a solid rebounder throughout his five-year career, which aligns with the Kings’ interests.

Sacramento enters play on Monday ranked dead last among all NBA teams in rebounds per game as it navigates the opening month without starting forward Keegan Murray (wrist surgery recovery).

Precious Achiuwa, the 20th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, averaged 6.3 rebounds per game over two seasons with the Knicks (2023-25). The Memphis product was on a training camp deal with Miami before being waived on October 18th.

For a team that is currently searching for upside in the frontcourt, adding Precious Achiuwa is a low-risk move for Sacramento. Domantas Sabonis (13.6 rebounds per game) needs help on the glass, as Westbrook’s 4.8 boards per game come in at second on the Kings’ rebounding leaderboard.
