Jerry Reynolds: Chrisite “did a very good job” as interim

On Tuesday’s edition of The Drive Guys, Jerry Reynolds joined the show to discuss the Sacramento Kings making a long-term commitment to Doug Christie being the organization’s head coach moving forward.

Reynolds, former Kings general manager and head coach, thought that Christie “did a very goob job under almost impossible circumstances” during his stint as interim during the 2024-25 season.

They got his thoughts on what the Christie hire means for the future of the organization along with the addition of new general manager Scott Perry.

The Sacramento Kings have filled their head coach opening, removing the interim tag from Doug Christie.

According to ESPN‘s Shams Charania, “The Sacramento Kings and interim coach Doug Christie are finalizing a multiyear contract to make Christie the franchise’s next head coach.”

Taking over in the middle of the 2024-25 season after the organization elected to move on from Mike Brown, Sacramento posted a 27-24 record under Christie before being eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the 9/10 play-in matchup.
