UC Davis football: David Meyer Named Big Sky Co-Defensive Player Of The Week

After 15 total tackles, 12 of those solo against Texas A&M-Commerce, UC Davis football redshirt junior linebacker David Meyer has been named the Big Sky Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Along with the nearly 20 stops, Meyer also snagged an interception that sealed the UC Davis victory when he took it back 60 yards for a touchdown. The impressive start to the season for Meyer is highlighted by his 9.5 solo tackles per game over the first two games, placing him first in the nation.

Meyer becomes the second Aggie to earn Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week honors this season, joining junior linebacker Porter Connors who earned the honor following the season opener at Cal on Aug. 31.
The Aggies hit the road for the next game when they visit Southern Utah and Sept. 14. UC Davis then returns home for back-to-back games starting with a visit by Utah Tech on Sept. 21.
