Best Traditions In College Football

With the start of the College Football Playoff coming on New Years Day we decided to compile a list of some of our favorite college football traditions.

Ohio State University: “Script Ohio”

The “Script Ohio” formation by the Ohio State marching band is one of the most iconic images in college football.  The marching band spells out “Ohio” in a cursive font as they do the halftime performance, leaving the final “dotting of the i” for the band’s senior-most sousaphone players and also a handful of famous celebrities and alumni.

University of Colorado: RUN Ralphie RUN

In a college football tradition like no other, the University of Colorado’s live mascot, Ralphie the Buffalo, displays a show that is on par with the football game itself. Always accompanied by 5 student handlers, Ralphie runs around the field in a horseshoe formation, topping speeds of around 25 MPH.

Florida State University: Chief Osceola

Before all Florida State home games Chief Osceola races down the field on his horse, Renegade, stopping at midfield to plant his flaming spear into the logo.

University of Georgia: UGA

I mean who doesn’t love a bulldog?

University of Hawaii: The Haka

If this wouldn’t get you pumped up before a game, I don’t know what would. Adopting from the New Zealand Rugby national team, the Rainbow Warriors have made the popular war dance into their own.
