As the Sacramento State Athletics program strives for new heights, they have released a rendering of what its future basketball home will look like next season.
One day removed from the headline-grabbing move to hire former Sacramento Kings guard Mike Bibby as the school’s new men’s basketball head coach, Sacramento State revealed a rendering of The Well, where the Hornets will play its home games for the 2025-26 season.

The Hornets’ current home stadium, The Nest, was built in 1955, only seats around 1,000 spectators, and is considered one of the oldest NCAA Division I facilities.

Bibby, who was hired by Sacramento State earlier this week, joined the guys to discuss what led him to accept the position, share his goals for what he wants to accomplish with the Hornets, and much more.
Bibby, 46, is currently a broadcaster for NBC Sports California, where he provides analysis for pregame and postgame Kings coverage.
Mike Bibby, a 14-year NBA veteran, has been searching for his next coaching opportunity following six years as a head coach at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bibby led Shadow Mountain to four straight state championships, winning a total of five over his six-year run during the 2013 through 2019 seasons.
Sacramento State is fresh off a 7-25 season that saw them finish last in the Big Sky Conference.
As the Hornets continue to strive towards becoming an FBS school, adding a big name like Bibby could help the school’s chances to joining the Mountain West Conference in the coming years.
