Reporter for the Nevada Independent, Tabitha Mueller, joined Kyle Draper and Chris Watkins Friday to discuss the Oakland A’s potential move to Las Vegas. They also talked about how the negotiations are going in Nevada and what roadblocks still present themselves.

All that and more on Chris & Co.

“I think there’s also a lot of frustration around the fact that we still haven’t seen anything formal come before [Nevada] yet,” Mueller said on the show. “People are saying, ‘hey, there’s a lot of talk but like what’s gonna actually happen.’ Especially because the state only meets every two years for our legislative session and we only have 120 days during that time. So if the deal isn’t finalized, and if people are serious about getting it done, and the governor calls a special session to deal with it, we’re talking not just money for the A’s at that point. We’re also talking money to spend on another legislative special session.”

Additional topics discussed include:

  • Where are the Athletics at in the potential move to Nevada?
  • Why do the A’s need public funding to move to Las Vegas?
  • How are Vegas residents feeling about this?
  • Is the organization rushing the move to Nevada?
  • Is Vegas being used by John Fisher?
  • Could the Nevada residents embrace the A’s like the Raiders?
  • Why is Tabitha unsure of this move getting done?
