Former Defensive Lineman Takes Bullets For His Students During A School Shooting

Former Southern Illinois defensive lineman put himself in danger to protect the lives of his students when a school shooting abruptly occurred on Friday morning in Noblesville, Indiana.

Jason Seaman, former Salukis player from 2007-2010 took three bullets; one in the abdomen, hip and arm, when going to protect his students from an active shooter.

Seaman, a science teacher at Noblesville West Middle School, is reported to be in good condition according to his mother Kristi, per Indianapolis Star.

The shooter left the classroom then returned to open fire inside Seaman’s class.

Seaman reportedly tackled the gunman, preventing further injuries to his students.

So far only Seaman and a 13-year-old female student were the only ones injured from the attack.

When Seaman’s brother received the news, he said:

“It’s not surprising, to be honest, He’s not really ever been the person to run away. When the safety of the kids is at hand, it’s not surprising to me that he was going to do what he had to do.”

The gunman has been taken into custody Friday morning.
