NFL free agency tracker: The biggest free agent signings of 2023

The 2023 NFL free agency window has officially opened, as teams can now negotiate with free agents on new contracts. And while the new year officially begins Wednesday, teams can all but sign the dotted line on deals for the next 48 hours.

Because of that, Sactown Sports has decided to bring you the NFL free agent tracker, giving you updated information on all the moves around the NFL. The biggest moves of Day 1 have seen major shakeups in both the NFC & AFC, including with the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers shocked the league by signing defensive tackle Javon Hargrave Monday morning, agreeing to a 4 year, $84 million deal to come to The Bay. The Raiders have also been busy, signing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a long-term deal.

A starting offensive lineman for the Ravens, Powers heads to Denver on a four-year deal.

Finishing 2022 with a 62.9 PFF grade, Powers allowed zero sacks last season. Playing 1094 snaps, he also was flagged for only one penalty all season.

Striking early Monday, the Chicago Bears are on the board with linebacker T.J. Edwards.

Edwards was a part of the Philadelphia Eagles’ run to the Super Bowl last season, helping to create one of the best defenses in 2022. The 26-year-old LB recorded 159 combined tackles, seven passes defended and two sacks in the 2022 season.

9:15 AM: Chargers’ RB Austin Ekeler requests permission to seek trade

A surprise Monday, as running back Austin Ekeler wants out of LA.

Entering age 28, the longtime Charger has amassed more than 7,100 scrimmage yards in six NFL seasons. The Chargers’ star finished with over 1600 all-purpose yards and 18 total TDs in 2022.

9:10 AM: New England Patriots re-sign CB Jonathan Jones

Contract: 2 years, $19 million

A longtime Patriot, Jones will be staying in New England for a little while longer. The veteran cornerback finished 2022 with a career-high 69 combined tackles, 11 passes defended and four INTs.
