LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

Sean Salisbury: Pete Carroll “brings a great energy” to Raiders

Jan 28, 2025, 10:15 AM

Sean Salisbury, former NFL quarterback and current analyst, joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross to discuss the Las Vegas Raiders hiring Pete Carroll as head coach, the Bills being unable to overcome the Chiefs again, and more.

“(Pete Carroll) brings a great energy, a great resume,” he said. “You’ve got a guy with experience that acts like he’s 30.”

Still, Sean acknowledged that the Raiders need more talent if they want to trend upward.

Also, for the fourth time in the last five seasons, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs sent home Josh Allen. The guys broke down their recent dominance, how Buffalo can continue to grow from here, and more.

All that and PLENTY of other great conversations can be heard using the link above or on the Sactown Sports YouTube page.

Listen to The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross from 6 – 10 a.m. PST, Monday through Friday, on Sactown Sports 1140.

The San Francisco 49ers are continuing to build out their coaching staff for the 2025 NFL season, hiring Brant Boyer as their new special teams coordinator.

He comes over with Robert Saleh, who was hired to once again be the 49ers defensive coordinator from the New York Jets.

The following is via the San Francisco 49ers Press Release:

The San Francisco 49ers and head coach Kyle Shanahan today announced that Brant Boyer has been named as the team’s special teams coordinator.

Boyer, 53, joins the 49ers after spending the previous nine seasons as special teams coordinator for the New York Jets. During his Jets tenure (2016-24), Boyer led a special teams unit that ranked tied-for-second in total touchdowns (nine), second in blocked punts (eight) and tied-for-fifth in special teams points scored (63) and opponent kickoff return average (21.8). Under Boyer’s guidance, two players (WR Braxton Berrios – 2022 & WR Andre Roberts – 2018) earned Associated Press First-Team All-Pro honors as returners, while three players (CB Justin Hardee – 2023, Roberts – 2019 and K Jason Myers – 2019) made Pro Bowl appearances.
