Maybe the hottest offseason topic around the entire NFL, the status of Brandon Aiyuk and a potential extension or trade, has yet another added development Friday afternoon.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the San Francisco 49ers are now “pushing to get a deal done that keeps Brandon Aiyuk in San Francisco for the long haul… Nothing done, but finally, things are moving.”

Pelissero mentions that other teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, “are still in the mix.” Still, there is now another example of the 49ers making it clear and public that they would prefer to keep Brandon Aiyuk on their roster.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz also added more details on the Pro Bowler’s status, including a recent meeting between Brandon Aiyuk and various 49ers members, which seems to have led to positive progress towards him remaining in The Bay Area.

Things can always change quickly in the NFL, but it’s a notable development in one of the biggest offseason stories in San Francisco and around the entire league.
