While some can deny it, others believe Brock Purdy is an elite quarterback, making his first appearance on the NFL Top 100 list this week.
The San Francisco 49ers gunslinger was named the 28th best player on the NFL Top 100 players of 2024 Tuesday. The list is voted on by NFL players only, showing their peers’ true feelings about their counterparts across multiple positions. Purdy is the fifth 49er to reportedly make the list, and is currently second-highest on the team. He had not been ranked prior to 2024.
The NFL unveils their Top 100 from 100-1, with more 49ers expected to be on it.

Brock Purdy, 24, set a 49ers’ record for passing yards in a single season in 2023, breaking the previous record held by Jeff Garcia. The Arizona native is a career 21-6 as a starting QB, across both regular season and playoffs. He finished 2023 with 4,280 passing yards (franchise record), 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Purdy was a finalist for NFL MVP last season.
Now entering Year 3, Purdy is in line to begin negotiating a massive contract extension after the 2024 season. While he’ll need to ball out to secure the bag, projections suggest a deal in the range of $65 million annually is on the horizon.
