Following an impressive season-opening win over the New York Jets, the San Francisco 49ers have looked out of sorts over the past two weeks.

San Francisco (1-2) has faltered in late-game situations in back-to-back matchups, with Sunday’s 27-24 loss against the Los Angeles Rams coming in the form of a blown 14-point lead.

The Athletic’s Matt Barrows joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Monday morning to share his observations from the 49ers’ meltdown, contemplate when we will see Brandon Aiyuk breakout from his slow start, and much more.

Be sure to check out the full interview with Matt Barrows on the Sactown Sports 1140 YouTube page.

  • Did special teams play a significant role in the loss?
  • Matt says that San Francisco is missing the impact of Dre Greenlaw
  • Are injuries a valid excuse for these early-season losses?
  • Jauan Jennings put on a show during Sunday’s loss (175 yards, 3 TD, 11 receptions)
  • When should we worry about Brandon Aiyuk following another quiet performance?
