The wait is over. San Francisco 49ers football returns tonight as Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets arrive at Levi’s Stadium.

It will be somewhat of a homecoming for Rodgers, a Chico native who often points to the fact that San Francisco passed over the quarterback during the 2005 NFL Draft.

Rodgers will take the field in a Jets uniform for just the second time on Monday, with his most recent showing being a brief appearance during last season’s opener on September 11th that saw the future Hall of Fame talent rupture his Achilles tendon, sidelining him for the entire 2023 schedule.

Now, Rodgers will face Brock Purdy and a 49ers team that looks to make another Super Bowl run following February’s heart-breaking loss in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It all starts tonight in Santa Clara. Here’s how you can listen and watch the action unfold.

Here we go: 49ers vs. Jets on Monday Night Football.

The San Francisco 49ers close out the Week 1 slate of the 2024 regular season with a tasty matchup against the New York Jets. Headlined by the return of future hall-of-famer (and Cal alum) Aaron Rodgers, the Red & Gold will have their hands full out of the gate. But with a mostly returning squad from their Super Bowl run in 2023, the expectations are still sky high for the 49ers.

And that starts in Week 1 in front of a jam-packed Levi’s Stadium.

But before we get to kickoff, here are three things to watch for that could determine a win or loss for the 49ers against the Jets.
