NBC Sports’ 49ers insider Rod Brooks joined The Drive Guys this week to share what he has seen from running back Christian McCaffrey in practice as the star prepares to suit up for Week 10, lay out his expectations for this weekend’s game in Tampa Bay, and much more.

While the 49ers may have not made major moves at the trade deadline, bringing back Tashaun Gipson Sr. is a fitting outcome for the perennial playoff contenders.

Reports emerged Tuesday afternoon that the San Francisco 49ers are re-signing the veteran safety to a one-year deal. He will join the practice squad, as the team waives kicker Anders Carlson to do so. Gipson has not played yet in the 2024 season, serving a six-game suspension for performance-enhancing substances.

While SF has been impressed with its’ young secondary, the re-addition of Gipson gives the Red & Gold more leadership on the backend of the secondary.
