Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Announces Retirement

Oakland Raiders cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.

Rodgers-Cromartie announced that he was hanging up his cleats at the age of 32 in an emotional Instagram post:

Today i retire, today my nfl journey ends, and i thank god for keep me all these years. A kid with one kid and no college offers lasted 11 years in the NFL. I played in Super Bowls, pro bowls, n did many more in this leauge. I’m at peace with my decision. Y’all may not understand and that’s kool!!! I wanna thank everyone for their support. Never forget MR. Ooouu himself. Yessuh!!!

Rodgers-Cromartie played 11 seasons in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, and Oakland Raiders.

After signing with the Raiders in August, Rodgers-Cromartie has seen a significant drop off in playing time. In 2018, he has forced one fumble and recorded only eight tackles.

Rodgers-Cromartie leaves the NFL with a career total of 382 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and 30 interceptions. He earned two Pro Bowl selections (2009 & 2015) and garnered one Second-team All Pro selection (2016).
