The Las Vegas Raiders have undergone a considerable overhaul to their roster this offseason, adding another piece to the puzzle in Andrus Peat.

Reports emerged Monday afternoon that the Raiders have signed the veteran offensive lineman to a deal. The former Pro-Bowl caliber offensive guard will likely have to compete for minutes under head coach Antonio Pierce this summer, with the hopes of starting in the trenches Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. Further contract details have not been disclosed at this time.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was first with the news.

Andrus Peat, 30, was drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the 13th overall pick in 2015. He has played every season of his NFL career in The Big Easy, featuring in 117 total games (including postseason). Peat has started 102 of those games, producing three Pro-Bowl years at left guard. The Arizona native switched to left tackle last season.

The Stanford alum posted a decent 60.2 Pro Football Focus grade at LT in 2023. Prior to that he struggled with injuries, missing 17 games from 2021-22. Peat had 50.6 and 52.1 PFF grades in that timeframe.

He will now compete with his fellow Raiders OLs for a prominent role. That role or position, for the time being, remains unclear.
