Dre Greenlaw is a man of many things for the 49ers; Now, he’s a top-100 player for second year in a row.
The NFL has begun unveiling their top 100 players of 2024 this week, as Greenlaw becomes the first 49er to make the list so far. The Arkansas native ranked 76th overall in the NFL, a slight bump for 79th a year prior. Despite suffering a pious achilles tear in Super Bowl LVIII, Greenlaw’s impact is undeniably, playing with the ferocious spirit of 49ers LBs before him.

Dre Greenlaw, 27, is arguably the most underrated MLB in the NFL today. In five seasons, he’s racked up an astonishing 518 combined tackles. Greenlaw also has 3.5 sacks, three picks, 14 pass break-ups and two forced fumbles in the NFL.
Despite never being named to the Pro Bowl or All-Pro, he has scored high in most defensive metrics. Greenlaw posted a 69.3 Pro Football Focus grade last season. In 2022, he had career-best 81.2 PFF score.
The LB was on his way to a stellar Super Bowl LVIII performance before tearing his achilles after only 12 snaps. While it’s a long road to recovery for Greenlaw, many expect him to be back midway trough the 2024 regular season.
“Dre is doing great. What happened to him in the Super Bowl was hard to wrap your mind around really,” Fred Warner said about his teammate recently. “It was so sad to see him go down in that moment. He was having a career game. You could tell he was possibly going to be the Super Bowl MVP the way he was playing…For him to go down, that was tough for me, that was tough for our team, but he’s as good as he can be. He’s on track to get back and recover…He’s doing really well.”
