The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks will be facing off in primetime on Saturday in the NFC Divisional Round in Washington.

The San Francisco 49ers are heading back into Seattle to take on the Seahawks in the NFC Divisional Round, and it doesn’t get much bigger than this.

Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. PT this Saturday, January 17th, putting this rivalry in the spotlight. If you’re not watching, you can hear every play on Sactown Sports 1140 AM.

This is the third time these teams have met this season, and so far it’s been a split. The first meeting came early in the year in Seattle, and it was a grind. 49ers vs. Seahawks set for Playoff Showdown

The second game was a totally different story. Late in the season, with the division on the line, the Seahawks came into Santa Clara and handled business. Seattle’s defense shut everything down, and the 49ers never really got going. That loss cost San Francisco the division– and it still feels unfinished.

Now it all comes down to this one. Same teams, same division, season on the line. These games are always physical and emotional, and playoff football just turns that up even more.

The 49ers will be doing it without star tight end George Kittle, which is a massive loss. Kittle tore his Achilles tendon during the Wild Card round in Philadelphia on Sunday and is done for the season.

Losing Kittle hurts on a lot of levels. He’s a safety blanket in the passing game, one of the best blocking tight ends in football, and the heartbeat of the locker room.

San Francisco is coming off a Wild Card win against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles and believes it can go to a tough place and win. They’ve done it before. They trust their defense, they trust their guys, and they’re not backing down just because it’s loud.

Seattle has the edge of being at home and having already beaten the 49ers once this year. They’re rested, confident, and know exactly what kind of fight they’re about to be in.
