The San Francisco 49ers have been looking for depth in the undrafted rookie free-agent market, signing offensive/special-teams ACE Jack Colletto to a deal this week.

Colletto was announced as one of the 11 initial undrafted rookies set to join the 49ers, news confirmed by the team themselves Monday. He is the lone fullback to be signed by the Red & Gold this offseason, potentially making him the backup to All-Pro Kyle Juszczyk.

There’s more to his game however, spending time at tight end, running back, linebacker, special-teams and even quarterback, along the way.

Jack Colletto, 24, played predominately at FB in 2022, receiving 30 total touches for 149 scrimmage yards. He finished his colligate career with 462 scrimmage yards and one touchdown. He won the Hornung Award for his play in 2022.

He was also effective with his arm at Oregon State. A former starting QB, Colletto threw for 254 passing yards, with no touchdowns and three interceptions to his name. The versatile football player also had a knack for linebacker, racking up 50 total tackles, two forced fumbles, one pass defended and one interception.

Appearing in 42 games in college, Colletto is a rare do-it-all type-of-player that head coach Kyle Shanahan and San Francisco can utilize. It’ll be interesting to see how rookie minicamp fares starting on May 12th.
