Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw is set to reunite with his first defensive coordinator in New York.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kinlaw has agreed to a one-year deal with Robert Saleh and the Jets. The terms of the deal have not been released.

San Francisco declined to extend Kinlaw’s fifth-year option before the 2023 season. The 14th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Javon Kinlaw has racked up 70 combined tackles, five sacks, one interception and seven passes defended during his tenure in San Francisco. His best year came in 2023 when he played all 17 games, totaling 25 tackles 3.5 sacks and six quarterback hits.

Saleh was Kinlaw’s defensive coordinator during his rookie season.
