UPDATE: Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been ruled out of Week 13 with a foot injury.
Bad news for the San Francisco 49ers as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was carted to the locker room with an apparent ankle injury.
Garoppolo suffered the injury on the team’s first drive of Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins. Taking a sack on third down, linebackers Jerome Baker and Jaelan Phillps combined for the tackle, falling on the quarterback’s ankle in the process.
Jimmy G limped off the field gingerly, heading straight to the medical tent for examination. After a few minutes, he was put on the cart and taken to the locker room.

His return is questionable at the moment.
Rookie QB Brock Purdy came in for the injured Garoppolo, leading the team on a drive in his first series of the day. He capped it off with a three-yard TD pass to fullback Kyle Juszczyk, giving the 49ers the lead, 10-7.
