Over the weekend, the San Francisco Giants took their second straight series, continuing their post-All-Star break rollercoaster as they make waves in the NL West postseason race.

Following the All-Star break, the Giants rattled off five straight wins, then six straight losses before sweeping the Oakland A’s and taking two of three against the Boston Red Sox over the weekend.

And this weekend could have easily gone south. Every game was won by one run and the two Giants’ wins were won by walk-off hits, first by J.D. Davis on Saturday then Joc Pederson on Sunday.

But, a win is a win and now the San Francisco Giants welcome division rivals and postseason hopefuls, the Arizona Diamondbacks, into town for a four-game series.

Winners of only two of their last 10 games, Arizona started the year hot, even sitting in first place at one point in the division, but has since cooled down, going 7-16 in July. They currently sit two games behind the San Francisco Giants in the NL West postseason race.

Following the team’s 4-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners Sunday, Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker told reporters there’s no time to dwell on what happened.

“It’s about tomorrow. Turn the page, you know, flush it — whatever cliche you like — but we’ve got four games in San Fran and we’ve got to win most of them,” Walker said, via MLB.com.

Upcoming San Francisco Giants Schedule

  • Saturday, August 5th-Sunday, August 6th – @ Oakland Athletics
  • Monday, August 7th-Wednesday, August 9th – @ Los Angeles Angels
